During the Fourth Balkan #Physics Olympiad that was held from 7 till 9 October, 2022 the N. Macedonian team of students achieved by-now-the-best team result for our country from an #international physics #competition as well as its first #GoldMedal for an individual student.
Four #highschool students represented N. Macedonia at this competition that was organized in hybrid model with 51 student competitors and 14 participating countries.
The host, the Cyprus Physics Society, together with the respective physical societies and unions of the participating countries organized the competition on local scale.
Three of the four N. Macedonian representatives are students in our school, Yahya Kemal College:
1 - Jan Stojanovski won the #GoldMedal,
2 - Matej Gelev won the #SilverMedal,
3 - Matea Mitrevska (sophomore) was awarded honorable mention.
Emilija Nikolovska (MIG) won the #bronze and was the best-ranked #female at this competition.
This historical #success is the outcome from the long-term effort, collaboration and systematic work from the students foremost, but also from their Yahya Kemal College #teachers, as well professors and mentors from the Society of Physicists of Macedonia.
We owe our gratitude to all these dedicated people and look further to others great successes from Yahya Kemal College #students in the months and years ahead.
